Stormwatch has been through a lot of changes lately, but it doesn’t seem that the changes are helping the title as intended. What began as a potential for an interesting new start for the team, is quickly devolving into traditional superhero fare. I fear the title may not survive past Villains Month in Sept.

Summer hiatus for podcast
Well, if you’ve listened to Ep. 47 then you know that we’ve decided to take a hiatus from doing the podcast for the rest of the summer. DC has reduced its Wildstorm-centered titles down to only Stormwatch. We figured it wouldn’t be worth recording a monthly podcast about one book. Plus, we’ve been going at the podcast pretty strong since we returned in Fall 2011 with the debut of the New 52 so it’s a nice time for a break.

Welcome to another episode of Wildstorm Addiction! Our resident Wildstorm experts Joe David Soliz & Benjamin Murphy review Stormwatch #20, Ravagers #12, and Team 7 #8, as well as some other Wildstorm appearances in the new DCU 52.
Ben welcomes everyone to episode #47 and gives his spoiler alerts warning. Remember, all written reviews on the website are spoiler free and usually get posted within a day of print release. This month on our “Friends of Wildstorm” series, where we bring on a lifelong or recently converted fans of the Wildstorm Universe, we have Titanothrope (who asked that his identity remain confidential) and is a regular at Clark’s Bar and one of the last die-hard Wildstorm fans next to Joe, myself, and Chris Striker.
Ravagers #12
Another one bites the dust as this title too comes to an end. Under the new creative team, the title did remain interesting. It also left things very opened ended so we’ll see what DC has planned for this group in the future.
The final issue reads like the final act of a movie. We have a huge confrontation between the Ravagers and Deathstroke which ends up being really cool. Because it was basically a final battle issue there’s not too much to elaborate on other than enjoying the fight. Diogenes Neves got to finish off the art on the issue solo and he does a good job with the fight scenes.
