Welcome to another episode of Wildstorm Addiction! Our resident Wildstorm experts Joe David Soliz & Benjamin Murphy review Stormwatch #21-30 and Future’s End #0-1, as well as some other Wildstorm appearances in the new DCU 52.
Joe welcomes everyone to episode #48 and forgets to give his spoiler alerts warning (but really if you haven’t read any of these issues, you didn’t miss anything this past year). Remember, all written reviews on the website are spoiler free and usually get posted within a day of print release (really Joe?).
Stormwatch begins to gain some decent footing with this issue. After this reboot of the title seemed to grow very tired very quickly, this issue slows down a bit and gives us lots of info about certain members of the new team. It’s still not perfect, but it’s a step in the right direction.
This new incarnation of Stormwatch continues this month but the story is still a bit simplistic. The inclusion of Lobo was already an odd choice and his part in the story takes a predictable turn here. The only saving grace about the issue is the choice Jenny Soul makes at the end which rings of Warren Ellis from original Authority run. Other than that, I’m still worried about this title.
