The regular series story arc comes to an end and it surprisingly leaves a lot of dangling plotlines. Even though the series ends after issue zero next month, it is interesting that there’s so many unresolved stories but thankfully they appear to have plans to continue them elsewhere.
Welcome to another episode of Wildstorm Addiction! Our resident Wildstorm experts Joe David Soliz & Benjamin Murphy review the new DCU versions of Stormwatch #11, Grifter #11, Ravagers #3 and Voodoo #11, as well as some other Wildstorm appearances in the new DCU 52.
Ben welcomes everyone to episode #37 and gives his spoiler alerts warning. Remember, all written reviews on the website are spoiler free and usually get posted within a day of print release. Plenty of Wildstorm news to cover this month.
Another solid issue of Ravagers as the team’s confrontation with Brother Blood escalates. Seeds for DC’s upcoming crossover “Rotworld” are planted here and continue to show the connectedness of the New 52. My only disappointment with the issue is that we got filler artists and we’re only four issues into the series. But thankfully the fill-in artists were good so it didn’t’ detract from the story.
Much like a true grifter, Liefeld and Tieri have been holding this issue close to their vest. After a frustrating start to their run, they bring their first arc to a close in grand fashion. Despite all the previous complaints about their run they manage to bring it all together and give us a nice conclusion while still setting up more for future events. Finally, a Grifter issue that I really enjoyed!
