Welcome to another episode of Wildstorm Addiction! Our resident Wildstorm experts Joe David Soliz & Benjamin Murphy review the new DCU versions of Stormwatch #4, Voodoo #4 and Grifter #4 as well as some other Wildstorm appearances in the new DCU 52.
Joe welcomes everyone to episode #29 and gives his spoiler alerts warning. Remember, all written reviews on the website are spoiler free and usually get posted within a day of print release.
The second outing between writer Nathan Edmondson and artist Scott Clark continues to ramp up the action that began last issue. I don’t know if the pairing has decided to add this much action to cater to Scott Clark’s strength, which is action scenes or it just worked out this way. All I know is that it has taken this series up a whole new notch for me.
Wow! What an amazing issue! I thought Cornell had wrapped up the previous conflict last issue a little too quickly but now I know why he did. This issue had exactly what I wanted: good character moments, great action, and an amazing cliffhanger.
We come to the final issue of Ron Marz on Voodoo and it is truly bitter sweet as the story that Marz was setting up won’t ever be truly realized. There are some hints to Voodoo’s origins and some set up for some future stories but how much of this will be retained by the new writer remains to be seen.
